SatoriEx is a real-money platform. Before you deposit or trade, this page answers the questions our compliance and support teams hear most.

Is this gambling?

Prices move because of probability, and trades produce information about real-world events — that is why governments, journalists, and researchers use prediction-market prices as forecasts. Some Asia-Pacific jurisdictions regulate prediction markets as financial products, others as betting, and a few prohibit them entirely. SatoriEx does not knowingly offer service in countries where prediction markets are explicitly prohibited.

Is SatoriEx legal in my country?

Legal status varies by jurisdiction and changes over time. We maintain a geo-restriction list and enforce it at sign-up, deposit, and withdrawal using IP-based geolocation (Cloudflare CF-IPCountry) — this catches the common case but is not VPN-proof, and the responsibility for confirming legality in your jurisdiction remains with you before you deposit or trade. If our service becomes unavailable in your country after you've deposited, you will retain the ability to withdraw any remaining balance, subject to applicable law, regulatory requirements, and any government-ordered restrictions in your jurisdiction.

Where is my money held?

Your USDC balance is tracked in a per-user double-entry ledger. Deposits flow through a per-user on-chain proxy wallet, kept separate from SatoriEx operating funds. Every balance change — trade, fee, settlement, deposit, withdrawal — is recorded with matching debit and credit entries. A balance-transparency page is available that surfaces the on-chain proxy balances alongside the ledger totals; cryptographic proof-of-reserves (Merkle-tree balance proofs + third-party attestation) is planned and not live yet.

What happens if SatoriEx shuts down?

If SatoriEx were to cease operations, withdrawal of remaining balances would be processed on a best-efforts basis: open trading would be frozen, open markets would be settled according to their resolution rules where possible, and balances would be returned to linked wallet addresses (or to a Tier-2 verified withdrawal destination for custodial-only users). No regulatory guarantee or deposit insurance applies — user funds at SatoriEx are not protected by the FDIC, FSCS, DICJ, or any equivalent scheme. Users bear counterparty risk.

KYC and your data

We collect KYC as a platform access control — a gate that limits trading volume by tier — and to be ready for AML/CFT obligations as licensing across Asia-Pacific evolves. KYC tier requirements are not a full AML programme: there is no automated sanctions screening (OFAC, UN), no Travel Rule integration, and no transaction-monitoring system today. Each tier collects only what is needed: email and phone for Tier 1; government ID and selfie for Tier 2. Documents are stored encrypted and never sold. Account closure is available on request; remaining balances are paid out before closure. Data deletion is processed manually today and may be subject to record-keeping obligations once they apply to SatoriEx.

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use SatoriEx. In jurisdictions where the local minimum is higher (for example, 20 in Japan), the local minimum applies. Falsifying age is a serious violation and will void account standing and forfeit positions.

Reporting concerns

If you believe a market resolution was incorrect, file a dispute within 2 hours of resolution (see Oracle & Resolution). If you believe a market is being manipulated or violates platform rules, contact support — confirmed manipulation may result in account suspension and forfeiture of related positions.
